🌿 “Rest is not an interruption—it’s a necessity.” This week we continued our series in The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry with Chapter 9: Sabbath. We explored how desire is never satisfied—our culture feeds us busyness, envy, and endless to-do lists. But Sabbath is God’s gift of stop, rest, delight, and reflect. ✨ 💡 Key Points: “Advertising is an attempt to monetize our restlessness.” Sabbath breaks that cycle with gratitude, joy, and contentment. Sabbath looks different for everyone—sometimes it’s quiet, sometimes it’s family time, sometimes it’s a nap! But it’s always holy and set apart. Sabbath isn’t just a day—it’s a spirit of restfulness: margin vs. busyness, peace vs. anxiety, trust vs. worry, gratitude vs. greed. Even God rested after creation—not because He was tired, but to show us the beauty of completion and reflection. Rest is worship. Choosing to pause and abide reminds us who God is, what He has done, and what He will do. We reflected on Paul’s words: 📖 “I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty… I can do all this through Him who gives me strength.” — Philippians 4:11–13 When we embrace Sabbath, we discover that true contentment and peace aren’t found in doing more, but in resting in Christ. We asked ourselves: 👉 What can I set aside for 24 hours to honor God? 👉 Can I put away TV, YouTube, or my phone and instead lean into God’s presence? 🌸 Sabbath is not about legalism—it’s about freedom.
